Gladchenko was born in 1929 in Lininsk, Volgograd region. He studied art at the Savitskiy Art College in Penza and graduated from there in 1953. Following his studies, he worked as a graphic designer. In 1959, Gladchenko began to paint for the department of the Russian Arts Foundation in Penza.

The artist prefers to work in realistic manner, his paintings are made in traditions of Penza art school, originated from Savitskiy Art College - one of the oldest art colleges in Russia. The colors he uses are calm and serene, and the delicate brush strokes give a subtle energy to his work.

B. Gladchenko participated in many regional and national exhibitions in Penza and Moscow.
